No trouble at all, though this will be long. The line "Who's laughing now?" is meant to mock the other person, as if to say, "Well, I might look silly with all this rope, but aren't you glad we had it now?" Or “look who’s correct now!”

So, the line is actually a reference to a movie I love called Boondock Saints. The original line was, “Okay, take your stupid fucking rope.” So, it was adapted a little bit here. In the movie, the purchase of the rope ends up with hilarious – but effective! – results. The Boy Scouts is an organization for young people (used to be just boys, but they accept girls now) to help them learn skills and instill values to grow to make moral choices. They do this through community service, and group activities like crafts and camping. The Boy Scout motto is, "Be Prepared," and that's one of the core things about them. A Boy Scout is prepared for any situation. So, Derek is joking about it with Jack. The term "boy scout" is also slang for someone who displays those attributes. Someone who's always prepared, follows, the rules, punctual, etc. even if they never joined. So, I did do some research on the military and ranks and consulted someone familiar with it before assigning the ranks if I got things wrong, it’s kinda too late to change it, so you’ll just have to accept my apologies. I did my best! So I don’t know if specialist means anything beyond a somewhat low rank in the Army. I looked at the ranks, thought about Linus’s approximate age, and what I thought he’d probably done and went with that. 👍

I just learned that a petty officer 3rd class is the equivalent to a corporal in the US Army and Marine Corps!

Anyone is a love interest, if you want! (Except the President.) However! I know exactly why you’ve got this impression, and I won’t say it’s wrong. But the thing is that Alex is kind of a free spirit outside of work. So, he’s more openly affectionate than the others would be. So, interpret that as you like.

It’s the final part. If I created any more content for it, it would strictly be in written form.

How are RFA boys so comfortable with calling the listener nicknames in front of each other and most importantly her mother? I also realised that in RFA2 Emerson almost called the president doll which made me laugh more more I should have.

Military and first responders are big on nicknames from what I’ve learned. The President is just rolling with it; she has much more important things to be concerned about. But you do have to suspend your disbelief a little in this format, as the Listener can’t have a name.

In RFA2 I noticed that when Jack told Turner that the listener was going to negotiate for the president and the other men, why did the secret service want to evacuate the listener instead of letting her negotiate for the literal president?

They felt the the men and the Listener were not well trained enough to negotiate. And thought it’d be better to get one than lose both, which is what they were afraid would happen. Then they would have sent in a negotiator for the President.

How would the rfa boys react if the listener got into an abusive relationship?

They’d tread cautiously (well, except Emerson and possibly Jack and Derek who would probably try to just go barging right into the person’s house but hopefully the others could talk them out of it). They would make it safe for her to talk about it and not judge her. Tell her that she deserves to be safe and never deserves to be hurt. And help her have the resources to leave. Now if she called them begging to get out immediately, they’d of course be right there and get her safe. And call the police.
