For any of your series, do you have scenes where you love the acting, but it doesn't quite match the vibe of the scene? And have you ever had someone improvise a scene?

For the most part, I don’t like to answer these questions, because then you’re gonna be thinking about it the next time you listen to it. I will ask for a retake if something’s really off. I sometimes leave spots open for improv. Ed gets to do … actually quite a bit of improv for Aliens 3. Otherwise, I’ll give a brief explanation of what I want and then let them go at it. Both times, the actor player Derek got to choose their insult (which resulted in “fucking muppet” and “ball bag.”)

I also let Bird improv a lot in Portal to a Cure. So I’d have the lines I wanted and then just a brief description of what to do but leave the lines open.

Fun fact: Dareon improv-ed his insults in Spanish in Wedding Dress Drama with Aussie Ben. And if I’m writing for Ben, I give him full license to change anything that doesn’t feel Australian. I like to have those kinds of opportunities when I can.

Not weird at all, because the answer is 100% YES. My Discord server members who have watched me edit have heard this happen. (They don’t hear the unfinished audio, ‘cause spoilers.)
